Sturge: One To Watch

Powerful left-back and Sporting Talent client Zak Sturge, is going from strength to strength. Having come up through the Cre8tive Football Academy, he was signed by Brighton and Hove Albion, quickly progressing through the ranks to represent the under-23s, against clubs such as Man City and Tottenham.
Sturge, described as “lightning quick” by Mark Beard, Brighton’s former under-18 boss, was called up to play for England’s under 18 team last year and has since played against Wales, Russia, Denmark, Sweden and Norway. “Sturge is definitely one to watch,” says Sporting Talent director Ryan Smith. “He is such a powerful, quick minded talent; comfortable playing either left-back, attacking wing-back or centre-back. He is developing brilliantly. Sturge is 17 and if he continues to progress at this pace, then he has a very exciting career ahead of him.”
